‘McBee Dynasty’ Who Tipped Off The Feds About Steve Sr’s Insurance Fraud?
Fans of The McBee Dynasty have been following Steve Sr.’s legal troubles since news of him being under an FBI investigation came to light, especially as the patriarch took a guilty plea. Since then, fans have been asking questions about what really happened in the situation. In particular, fans are questioning just who it was that tipped off the authorities in the first place.
McBee Dynasty Patriarch Steve McBee Sr. Is Scheduled For Sentencing This Upcoming September
Viewers were introduced to members of the McBee family and their Missouri cattle and farming business from the reality series The McBee Dynasty. The show, which premiered in 2024, recently moved to Bravo for its second season.
After the first season, news had come out that family patriarch Steve McBee Sr. was under an FBI investigation over claims of federal crop insurance fraud. In November 2024, he pleaded guilty to his involvement in the reported scam.
During the second season, viewers saw the fallout this had on the McBee brothers, who were left to manage the family business. Fans have also been given a few updates on the situation in recent months.
As previously reported, as part of Steve McBee Sr.’s plea deal, further charges won’t be placed on other members of his family directly concerning the fraud case. Steve McBee Sr.’s sentencing is also expected to take place in September.
Some Fans Suspect Someone They Knew From The Show Could Have Contacted The Feds
However, fans still have questions over what was happening behind the scenes. More information is expected to come out, if at all, following Steve Sr.’s sentencing. That said, fans are already making guesses as to what could have happened.
Taking to social media, one fan specifically wanted to ask just who it was that tipped off the feds concerning Steve McBee Sr. The fan even made a comparison to legal troubles concerning figures from another reality series.
The fan wrote, “I liken what is going on here with the investigation to the situation on Real Housewives of New Jersey with the Guidice’s. Teresa was paying for $100K+ worth of furniture by peeling a bunch of bills from a big wad of cash on camera. It got people talking.”
The fan then theorized that the family might have actually drawn attention to themselves with their money. As they shared, “With the McBee’s, I have to consider that Calah talking about Jr. sending her $10,000 and $20,000 couldn’t help but draw attention and raise eyebrows. They talk about their crippling debt in every episode.”
“But they go off to buy a bunch of buffalo. They buy the cattle with the really long horns. So too, there is all the McBee’s talk about 5 family-owned businesses, the outstanding loans, the big multi-million dollar business deal Galyna was trying to land, the countless number of homes for a business so much in debt.”
Some Fans Think The Family Didn’t Do Themselves Any Favors By Appearing On Television
However, the fan then suggested that this could have sparked jealousy and even caused someone to contact the feds. While noting that fans had shown some unconfirmed suspicion over “Galyna and Calah,” they also suggested they could have had help.
Taking to the comments, other fans suggested their own theories over who could have contacted authorities. A few even shared why they didn’t agree with certain fan theories.
In fact, some simply felt that the family didn’t do themselves any favors by appearing on a television show. This actually reflects a bit of what fans saw on the show, where Steve Sr. attributed various audits and inspections to people being jealous of the family. Some comments include:
“It could be anyone. I disagree with most of the sub about how likely it is to be Galyna. I tend to think an employee, manager, the insurance agent themself, a neighbor who listened to them run their mouths and put the pieces together.”
“They probably just got audited. They may have been chosen to be audited because of being on TV. But I assume it was just regular old auditing.”
“I wondered if the hedge fund group discovered it. Would they report them if they did? Or maybe they were tipped off by the FBI to not do business with them? And that’s why the deal didn’t go through.”
“It sounds similar to The Chrisley’s mess. Being on tv and some of the things they have said onscreen may have been the final straw.”
“I think the feds must have a person on staff dedicated to watching Bravo so they can bust people. lol.”
