American Pickers Ratings Skyrocket to Highest of the Season After Struggling Numbers, as Mike Wolfe Films New Episodes

American Pickers ratings have skyrocketed to their highest point of the season for the most recent episode, after previously struggling with viewership numbers.

Mike Wolfe, 60, stars on American Pickers alongside his brother Robbie, Danielle Colby, and new full-time cast member John “Jersey John” Szalay.

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal that ratings for the Wednesday, February 28 episode nearly hit 1 million viewers.

The episode titled “The Bunard” brought in 966,000 viewers.

A description for the episode read:

“While combing through his buddy’s ‘Bad to the Bone Bunard’ in Cleveland, Mike uncovers a massive stash of brass AA bikes and is determined to buy them all. Meanwhile, during an Illinois heatwave, Robbie and Jersey John are the first to wade through a late collector’s stockpile of early tools and the machines that built America.”

This is the highest-rated episode of the season.
Here’s how the rest of Season 25 has performed:

Feb 14 – “Roadside Relics”: 774,000 viewers

Feb 7 – “The Eyes Have It”: 835,000 viewers

Jan 31 – “The Mile-Long Yard Sale”: 830,000 viewers

Jan 24 – “Five Generation Pick”: 948,000 viewers (second highest of season)

Jan 17 – “Kitty Car Heaven”: 894,000 viewers

Jan 10 – “Picking Against Time”: 890,000 viewers

Jan 3 – “Mike and Homer”: 880,000 viewers

Season 25 kicked off on December 27 with two episodes:

“Classic Car Cemetery”: 723,000 viewers

“Hidden Cash Stash”: 676,000 viewers

For comparison:

Season 24 premiere (Jan 4, 2023): 943,000 viewers

Season 24 midseason return (July 5, 2023): 980,000 viewers

Season 23 premiere (Jan 1, 2022): 1.05 million viewers

Season 23 second half (July 22, 2022): 833,000 viewers

Despite the occasional dips in ratings, the stars continue to film for new seasons.

Mike recently posted on Instagram:

“Rolling with @Jore aka Jersey John. Making new episodes of American Pickers. See ya down the road!”

Jersey John also confirmed in February:

“Heading south this month to film more episodes of American Pickers.”

Watch all-new episodes on Wednesdays at 9 PM Eastern on the History Channel.

According to The U.S. Sun, fans can expect more seasons in the future.

American Pickers wrapped filming for the first half of Season 26 in the fall.
A source close to Mike said:

“They start filming for the second half of Season 26 from January to June. It’s long, but he has the whole summer off. He just keeps filming.”

Longtime guest Jersey John was promoted to full-time cast this season.

Cast Changes & Behind-the-Scenes Drama

Robbie Wolfe replaced fan-favorite Frank Fritz as permanent host in 2021.
Frank, 60, last appeared in 2020 after taking a break for back surgery.
He reportedly had a falling out with Mike and did not return, although the two have since made amends.
Frank then suffered a stroke in July 2022 and is currently under conservatorship and guardianship.

Despite continued filming, there has been tension between the cast and network:

“They’re pushing episodes back far — why, I don’t know,” said a source close to Mike.
“They’re trying to keep up with streaming. Instead of having a full season with a new episode every week, they do 10 episodes and stop. It pisses them off.”

Robbie reportedly complained about seeing episodes air a year after filming.

“They are trying to play with all these things and see what happens. Like okay, we can do this, we can do that.”

Broadcast Schedule Overview

Season 24 premiered January 4, 2023 and ran weekly until March 8.

The second half returned July 5 and ran until August 23.

American Pickers airs Wednesdays at 9:00 PM on the History Channel.
