The end of Season 1 saw Steve Sr. running off into the sunset after the loss of a multi-million dollar deal. Steven Jr. recently addressed his father’s absence on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Although Sr. has not appeared yet in Season 1, he is heavily featured in discussions as drama kicked off about him breaking up with the McBee Farm & Cattle Co.’s CFO, Galyna Saltkovska. He then started a relationship with one of her close friends, Masha. Plenty of drama has kicked off about Steve dating Masha. Steve McBee Sr. has been in trouble with the law, and it has prevented him from participating in the hit Bravo show The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys. Sr. is being investigated by the FBI during Season 2 of the hit show. Jr. was talking with Galyna when he revealed to her:

Steve McBee Jr.’s comments about his father shocked fans. It has been revealed that Steve Sr. was being investigated for federal crop insurance fraud. In November 2024, he pleaded guilty to charges, admitting that “he engaged in fraudulent activity from 2018 to 2020 that caused an economic loss to the U.S. Department of Agriculture,” according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

In Steve McBee Sr.’s confession, he admitted to submitting fraudulent documents underreporting his crop totals. This led to McBee Farm & Cattle Co. receiving millions of dollars in federal insurance subsidies. McBee faces up to 30 years in federal prison. His sentencing will be in September 2025. Sr. said:

“I entered a plea agreement to address crop insurance issues with farming operations in 2018 through 2020. I personally accept responsibility as the buck stops with me.”
