End of an Era in Nashville

American Pickers star Mike Wolfe has made a major announcement:
He’s officially closing the Nashville location of his Antique Archaeology store after 15 years of operation.

Mike, 60, shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on Friday, April 18.

“I’ve been so proud to be a part of this neighborhood, this city, and this chapter of life. But sometimes, even when something is good, you have to pause and ask yourself where your time is going and where your heart is calling you next.”

Family First

Mike explained that his decision was influenced by a desire to spend more time with his family, including his longtime girlfriend Leticia Kleene and his 13-year-old daughter Charlie.

“For me, that’s family. It’s about slowing down, staying rooted, and focusing on new projects that are pulling at my soul.”

He made it clear this isn’t goodbye:

“I’m not disappearing — not even close. I’ll still be picking, sharing, and selling online and at our original store in Iowa. But I’ve learned that it’s easy to spread yourself too thin. Balance is something we all chase.”

Mike confirmed the last day of the Nashville store will be Sunday, April 27, and he plans to make an appearance at the shop.

Store Reviews and Public Backlash

While many fans were sad to hear the news, others have criticized the Nashville store in the past, especially for its prices and selection.

Here’s what some visitors said on Google Reviews:

  • “Huge disappointment. Very few items for sale and what was there was overpriced. Total waste of time.”

  • “It’s basically just a gift shop — shot glasses, T-shirts, can koozies. Not many antiques.”

  • “$1,500 for a small Quaker sign? It’s a rip-off.”

  • “I expected an antique store, not an American Pickers merchandise hub.”

The Bigger Picture: Mike Wolfe’s Growing Empire

Despite the backlash, Mike has built a business empire that includes:

  • Real estate

  • Multiple antique stores

  • MRW Properties

  • Mossy Point Inc.

  • TV productions

Even though the Nashville store is closing, the Iowa Antique Archaeology location will remain open, and Mike will continue selling antiques online.

What’s Next for Mike? A New Show and a Break

Mike also revealed he’s taking a break from filming American Pickers, which has run non-stop since 2010.

“We haven’t had time off in 15 years. I think we’re going to take at least four or five months off — and that’s going to feel good.”

But don’t worry — Mike won’t be gone from TV for long.

He’s set to star in a new reality series called History’s Greatest Picks.

Final Thoughts

While it’s the end of the road for Mike Wolfe’s Nashville store, it’s clear he’s not stepping away from the spotlight — just shifting gears to focus on what matters most.
